AIMS; (1) To promote practical and theoretical exploration of basketry and allied skills.

(2) To promote the use of natural materials in sustainable construction, in particular but not limited to basketry.

(3) To promote the craft in a community, social, educational and economic context.

OBJECTIVES; such promotion may include but need not be limited to;

(a) the creation and facilitation of opportunities for individuals to participate in and have direct experience of basketry in its various styles, techniques and ethnic & other patterns and various and varying materials

(b) the setting up, encouragement and facilitation of local basketry resource centres

(c) the organisation of community arts events to profile elements of basketry through collaborative work with artists from diverse disciplines
